IAM international art moves

IAM international art moves is an international art and design academy network founded in 2009 by Anne and Dr. Martin Müller. IAM is cooperating with art and design academies and universities worldwide and has the main aim to give students a „real life“ experience by creating and organizing completely an intercultural exhibition project abroad in the context of a professional exhibition space in Germany.

The IAM network focuses on sustainable relations between institutions and personalities involved. Based on this idea a vivid international network is developed which impulses activities beyond the core IAM project. Important elements of IAM are intercultural and cultural as well political reflections which are expressed in arts and design, in curating and organizing but also in additional cooperations and visibility of the process f.e. with the ifa-Institute for Foreign Affairs in Germany and embassies of the participating university´s countries.

The activities of IAM international art moves consist of two main parts:

The workshop:
The IAM workshops are realized at the art academies. The students from all media develop their own exhibition. This inculdes not only the artistic part but also the curatorial, financial, communicational, intercultural and group work aspects. The IAM workshop prepares the students for the exhibition realization in Germany.

The exhibition:
The IAM exhibition is realized as a result of the worksop at a „real“ and prominent art space in Germany by a selected group of students out of the workshop as „ambassadeurs“ of their workshop team, university and cultural identity. The venue for the IAM exhibitions is the well known „Kunstquartier Bethanien“ in Berlin located in the center and cultural melting pot of Berlin-Kreuzberg. Additionally IAM presents group exhibitions at the „OSTRALE – International Biennal for contemporary Arts“ in Dresden regularly.

At this occasion f.e. Iva Kovic received the „Advancement Award“ of the „European Foundation for Culture Pro Europa“ in 2015. Iva participated with her video installation „Bullets Revisited“ in the „IAM international art moves“ workshop at the ALBA, Academie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts, UoB., Beirut, Lebanon, in November 2014 and the attendant IAM exhibition in June 2015 at the „Kunstquartier Bethanien“ in Berlin. Her video installation „Bullets Revisited“ was presented in this exhibition and choosen supplementary to be presented furthermore in the context of the IAM best of selection at the OSTRALE´015 in Dresden where she received the „Advancement Award“ of the Foundation for Culture Pro Europa.
